General FAQ

We are first, an event planning and design company. We work every day! Whether it’s in office answering emails and writing up proposals, meeting with out of town clients, or making/processing flowers while we are closed!  Most Saturdays we are working on location coordinating and designing events. Because of this rigorous schedule we try to keep the shop closed to spend time with our families. But we encourage you to make on-line orders or leave a voicemail- we will answer you ASAP. 

Yes! Stop in any time during business hours (Tuesday-Friday 10am-5:30pm) to see our unique, fresh floral options. We have a large assortment of unique vases to choose from. If you have vase you love, bring it with you and we can fill it! We can also send it home with you wrapped, rather than in a vase. 

We get our flowers from some of the nations top wholesalers to ensure quality your event and our brand deserves. We are a boutique flower shop and spend a lot of time ordering exactly the right stems in plenty of time for your event. The pricing is dependant on the “market pricing” at the time of order. Each stem is marked up in order to pay for many things; shipping, processing, water, storage, handling, replacing and designing your floral pieces.

We don’t generally have pre-made arrangements. If you’re looking for something specific, let us know about a week in advance and we can make it work for you! We will occasionally have pre-made arrangements available for select holidays.

We do not. We really love working with you to find exactly what you’re looking for, whether it’s just a few stems or a complete vased arrangement.

Delivery FAQ

The Des Moines Metro area. We can make exceptions, we just ask that you call ahead to check our availability for the delivery date. Delivery fees will increase when distance increases.

Our minimum is $50 for the arrangement with a $15 delivery fee to most Des Moines Metro zip codes.

We normally make daily deliveries Tuesday through Friday. On days that we are closed delivery is not available; those days include Monday, Saturday and Sunday weekly as well as New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. There may be additional days that we are closed or delivery is not available that are not listed here.

Yes. We can make exceptions if our schedule allows. Please call during our regular business hours if you’d like to schedule a special request delivery.

For normal delivery to most zip codes, orders must be placed by noon to guarantee same day delivery in the Des Moines Metro area. A rush delivery option for same day delivery is available until 4pm for those last minute requests. The deadline times will vary during holiday periods.

We aim to have deliveries arrive early-late afternoon with 6pm being the latest delivery time. Please note that during busy holiday periods or inclement weather, deliveries maybe later than normal.

We can try our best! Please call us to see if we can do it for you and be aware that a specific time delivery will incur a higher delivery charge.

You can request us to call the recipient prior to delivery by putting a note in the “delivery instructions” field on the order page. We do like to make sure someone is home if the delivery is being sent to a residence. 

If the recipient is not home when the delivery is made, it will be taken back to our store location. A phone call will be made to the recipient at the phone number you provide before we bring it back to the store. A calling card will be left on the recipient’s door or in their mailbox asking them to call us to arrange a time for re-delivery. Additional charges may apply.

Wildflower will attempt to find the correct address. If the flowers are delivered to the address supplied by the customer and the address is incorrect, Wildflower will contact the customer and additional charges may apply for re-delivery (if the flowers are recovered). However, if the flowers are delivered to an incorrect address and are not recovered, Wildflower can not accept any responsibility for such loss. It is the obligation of the customer to supply accurate details at the time of ordering.
